Merchants from countries such as Japan, China, France, India and Holland came here to trade their wares. They brought with them a diverse array of cultures and backgrounds. Thanks to this, the culture of the local citizens of Hoi An evolved into one that is both special and unique. In 1999, Hoi An was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. These days, visitors from all over the world come here to visit the historical sites and discover the ancient culture of this enchanting town. The region’s food culture is one very special part of its culture that visitors coming here today can experience and enjoy.

   The owner of Discovery Hoi An Food Tours, Phi, has over 11 years experience of serving foreign tourists as a tour guide and receptionist as well as in spas and restaurants. Phi started this company to share her passion of Vietnamese culture, especially its food culture, with foreign guests.
